Set-Up

When you unbox your Peekyboo baby camera, please ensure to remove the plastic, protective film covering the lens. The baby camera’s microphone is located just underneath the lens, so if this is covered then no sound will be audible on the baby monitor. Don’t worry – removing the plastic film won’t void your 30-day money-back guarantee!
To capture photos, firstly please check that you have a Micro-SD card inserted into the baby camera.

Then, to snap a photo, from the main screen simply long press the Zoom button on the side of the baby monitor to take an instant video grab. The baby monitor will emit a photo capture sound when a photo has been snapped successfully, but please note that you will not hear this sound unless the volume on the baby monitor is active, ie. with the volume up.
The micro-SD card slot is just underneath the lens at the front at the front of the baby camera. To reveal the slot, simply tilt the lens upwards. You can do this manually, or by pressing the directional keys on the baby monitor from the main screen.
When in Playback mode on the Peekyboo baby monitor, you can scroll through each page of video files by pressing and holding the left/right directional keys. By pressing and holding the left directional key you can scroll directly to the last page number where all the latest recordings are stored.
With typical usage, Peekyboo’s baby monitor battery should last anywhere from 8 hours, up to 12 hours when applying battery-saving features.

Some users can achieve longer monitor usage on a single charge by switching the baby monitor off when it’s not in use and applying battery-saving features while monitoring their child.

Battery life can be influenced by several factors, including:
Battery-saving settings: Features like VOX, Audio Only, and Sleep modes.
Screen brightness level: Higher brightness settings will drain the battery faster.
Active screen time: Video playback or prolonged use of the baby monitor.

A few things to note:
The Peekyboo baby monitor typically takes around 4 hours to fully charge. Once fully charged, it should be disconnected to avoid overcharging. Always ensure you are using the correct AC adapter for the baby monitor: 5V⎓2.0A.

Here are some simple tips to optimise your Peekyboo baby monitor’s battery life:
Reduce Brightness: Lower the screen brightness to save energy.
Utilise Battery-Saving Modes: VOX, Sleep, or Audio Only modes help minimise active screen time.
Maintain Room Temperature: Keep the baby monitor at a moderate temperature, as cold can drain batteries.
Charge Properly: Unplug the device once the battery reaches 100% (indicated by the green light on the side of the baby monitor).
Please double check that you are using the correct AC adapter to charge the baby monitor, ie. the plug marked 5V⎓2.0A. We recommend using the provided AC monitor adapter for optimal charging results. Please also check that you are using the supplied USB-C charging cable.

The Peekyboo baby monitor device should take approximately four hours to fully charge. Please make sure to discharge the monitor from the charger once it is full, indicated by the green light on the side of the baby monitor, so as not to overcharge the battery.
Try switching the video channel from the Peekyboo baby monitor. This will set the baby camera and baby monitor to communicate on an alternative frequency, which usually mitigates any connection issues.

To change the video channel select Menu > Monitor Settings > Video Channel > Channel A/B.

Next, please confirm that you are using the correct AC adapter for the baby camera as follows: 5V⎓1.0A. This information is marked on the supplied power adapters. We recommend using the provided AC adapters for optimal operating results. If the baby camera is not receiving the correct power supply it can cause operating issues.

Settings

This is likely because you have VOX active and the sensitivity setting is too low. As a first step please check whether you have VOX set to On or Off. With VOX on, the screen will automatically turn on as soon as sound has been detected from the baby camera. You can adjust the sensitivity setting of VOX so it is not as easily affected by small noises, which will allow the screen to stay in sleep mode.
Peekyboo’s lullaby feature has been designed to time out after 30 minutes so that other monitoring features, like VOX and Alerts, will reactivate after that timeframe. As of now, there is no option to play them continuously.
Like most local baby monitors, our devices can only emit audio from one source at a time. In Split Screen, the baby camera which is active for audio will have a green box around the frame. To switch between the audio of the two baby cameras, simply long press the OK button from the main screen.

However, with Peekyboo’s Sound Alerts feature, you can still set up your baby monitor to alert you when sound has been detected from both connected baby cameras. This way you will receive a notification on the monitor when a sound is detected, even if the audio on the baby monitor is only active on one baby camera. You can also customise the volume and duration of the Sound Alert notifications to suit your preference.

Another option for monitoring the audio on more than one baby camera is to set the display to Multi-Camera Cycling. This display mode will cycle through all connected cameras at a set interval of your choosing, from 5-30 seconds, emitting the audio from each baby camera as the display cycles.

Voice Activation or VOX also works with both of these display options, whereby the screen will activate when sound has been detected from all connected cameras. With Multi-Camera Cycling and VOX the baby camera where the sound was detected will be the one displayed in full screen when the screen activates.
Multi-Camera Cycling is the best option for keeping an ear out for two babies simultaneously.

This display setting will cycle through all connected cameras in full screen at set intervals of your choosing from 5-30 seconds. This way, if one child is calling out, or another child wakes, you will hear both on the baby monitor separately.

For the most sensitive level of audio monitoring you can set the cycling to switch baby cameras every 5 seconds, so you can hear from both cameras with only a 5-second delay in between. While it won’t allow you to hear sound from both baby cameras simultaneously, it gives you the opportunity to keep an ear on both children.

If Multi-Camera Cycling doesn’t suit your display needs, then Peekyboo’s Sound Alerts feature would be the next best option for monitoring sound from two children. With Sound Alerts active, you will receive a notification on the baby monitor alerting you to sound and the baby camera from which the sound was detected. You can also customise the volume and duration of the Sound Alert notifications to suit your preference.
The volume of the baby camera microphone is fixed and cannot be adjusted. However, you can control the sound levels of the 2-way talk feature by adjusting the distance between the baby monitor microphone and your mouth. If it’s too loud, try holding the baby monitor a little further away while speaking or adjusting the volume of your voice to find a comfortable level.
